Clare made her professional acting debut with the award winning Path Productions, as Lucy Lockit in "The Beggars' Opera", at London's Cochrane Theatre. Other roles with Path have included: Solveig in "Peer Gynt", Megaera in "Androcles And The Lion", Juno in "The Tempest", Witch Madam Frost in "Yellow", The Runcible Spoon in "The Owl And The Pussy Cat" and Lucy in "Getting There"- a musical play by Katie and Danny Kingshill, based on Clare's life story.

The role of Miss Lepram the Singing Detective was created for Clare, by Katie Kingshill in her pantomime "The Mystery of Dick Whittington. Following successful stagings in Kent and London, Clare repeated the role in Katie's latest show- "The Mystery of Goldilocks and the four bears" at the St. Luke's Festival in Sevenoaks. *
As a founder-member of The User Friendly Theatre Company, Clare has acted and sung the roles of: Biddy and Sophronia Pocket in "Estella's Legacy"- touring and at Eastgate House in Rochester, Camden People's Theatre, the Pavilion in Bamburgh and the Rochester Dickens Festival; Maria in "Rachael's Christmas"- touring and at the Geffrye Museum and Camden People's Theatre in London; Celia in "Crimes Is At His Exercise"- at RSPB Minsmere in Suffolk; Violet in "Ducks"- at venues in Gloucestershire, Northumberland and Greenwich; Thomasin Darling in "Grace, Hope And Charity"- in South Shields, Dartford and London; Holly The Hollybush in "Plants! Plants! Plants!" at "The Salute To The Forties" Festival at Chatham Naval Dockyard, and * Nellie in "Powder Monkeys" at Upnor Castle and in Alnwick. * To celebrate Dickens's bicentenary at Dickens World, Clare took part in a performance of "Estella's Legacy" and played Polly Pot in her own pantomime version of "The Cricket On The Hearth".
With the Royal Opera House's Education Programme, Clare played Mimi in "La Boheme" and Ellen in "Peter Grimes"; and she sang and danced in "Monday Moves" at the R.O.H's Linbury Theatre. Clare's other theatre credits include: Lucy in "The Telephone" and Bella in "The Answerphone"- with The Infinitely Adaptable Opera Company- at The Edinburgh Fringe and the Stackpole Centre in Pembroke; Elizabeth in "Richard III"- at Brixton Town Hall and Broadstairs Library, with The Integrated London Shakespeare Company; Ulalume in "The Masque Of The Red Death", with The London Actors' Theatre Company- at the Union Chapel in Islington, and Maria in "Rachael's Christmas"- with The Wellcome Players at the Medway Little Theatre.
